Jason Dorsa is a native of Long Island. Jason grew up in Holbrook and graduated from Sachem HS in 1993. He spent most of his formative years learning music by legends like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Black Crowes while also having family singalongs where he learned the harmonies to classics from The Beatles and The Eagles.

Jason studied music education in college and has been a middle school music teacher in the Hauppuage Public Schools since 2000. His teaching schedule made it possible for him to begin a performing career at small venues on nights and weekends. His early performance career consisted of showcases at 90's venues like Classy Coffee and Borders Books. In the 20+ years since he has branched out into restaurants, breweries, wineries and many other venues. Jason has also spent a lot of time performing at weddings, engagements, birthday parties, benefit concerts and various other special events.

Over nearly three decades as a performer, Jason has developed his craft and honed himself into one of the premiere singer/guitarists on Long Island. He has taken classics from The Beatles, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and many others and mixed them with modern songwriters like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton and similar artists creating a playlist of more than 500 songs, all stored in his aging melon. He prides himself on his ability to maintain the integrity of the original song while melding it into his own unique vocal style and rhythmic strumming patterns.

Listeners often ask Jason why he is still performing after all of these years-They ask if the money is good. They ask if the free food and drinks keep him coming back. They ask if it's an easy way to meet people and make new friends. Inevitably, the response to these questions is all of the above, but most of all, it is about connecting with the audience. Jason is an expert at reading a room and setting his sights on stimulating every set of ears in the house with a constantly evolving setlist.

We heard Jason play at a distillery and we thought he would be a great fit for our micro wedding - and he was awesome! He had a really chill vibe during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner and provided a beautiful ambience. He was quick to respond to any questions and was able to prepare a few special songs for our day for the processional, recessional, and our first dance. Our favorite part of the night was during the cake cutting when Jason played “Crazy Train,” which was improvised and made us laugh. It really stands out in our memory as a unique moment. We would not hesitate to hire Jason for an event again. He did a wonderful job with the songs he learned for us, and knows a large repertoire of songs that we enjoyed. Jason even let my friend jump in and sing a duet with him, which was totally unplanned and sweet. Thank you so much, Jason!

We hired Jason for our annual 4th of July party and he brought the party to that next level. The guests were entertained for hours with great music and the unmatched talent of jason. He took requests and played every song that was asked of him. We immediately booked him for the following year on the spot and will definitely be using him for other functions. I highly recommend hiring Jason for all and any occasions.

We've enjoyed Jason's performing several times at Lenz Winery so when we decided to have a backyard party with entertainment we immediately thought of Jason. He was wonderful! His singing and playing were great! It really made the party! Thanks Jason!

Jason Dorsa’s voice reminds me of Rod Stewart- a really, really good singer! His voice has a nice bit of blues and rasp in it. Bluesy and raspy- and he really knows when to lean into these qualities in his songs. Jason elevates any venue he plays in, carefully curating his set to complement and enhance his environment. He is a thoughtful, soulful performer. A true gem.

Jason Dorsa is everything you want in a musician and performer! He is a true professional and an amazing entertainer and educator. Jason is well versed in rock, pop, jazz and classical music and puts his stamp on everything he plays. His voice is soulful and interesting and can transform any song into something original and captivating.

Jason is well known for being the area’s premiere acoustic musician and plays venues all over Long Island, NYC and New Jersey. He is a fantastic musician with the ability to connect with an audience and his fans. Jason Dorsa is the real deal and a true artist in every sense of the word. I hope you are lucky enough to get to see him in person….you won’t be disappointed!

After My mother in law had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, jason played at our mother's day celebration. We were afraid this might be our last mother's day with her and wanted to make it really special. jason made our day so memorable and unforgettable. there is one particular memory i have of my mother in law bumping butts with my aunt and dancing with so much joy and laughter. Jason's wide variety of songs and genres had something for everyone, and his voice is so versatile. we loved just sitting together with family and soaking in the music. we will never forget that day
